Q1. Last year's 2 hour AGM convened by our former executive chair Angus McKay was pretty dramatic. Have the new chair and CEO read the transcript or watched the archive of the AGM webcast as part of their preparation for today's meeting? What did they make of the meeting and do they have any observations about the meeting and things that were said and happened? Did any of that influence their preparations ahead of today's AGM, including the scheduling of any pre-AGM meetings with major shareholders or proxy advisers? How did those meetings go and did they influence what was said in today's formal addresses?
Answer: This question didn't go as well as hoped because new chair Lachlan Heywood attended the 2025 AGM as a NED and he didn't give new CEO Chris Wilesworth a chance to comment. Watch video of exchange via Twitter.
Q2. Thank you for disclosing the proxies early to the ASX, enabling a more informed AGM debate. The only material protest vote on the 7 resolutions was the 36.7% vote against the re-election of Kate Spargo which presumably is accountability for the company's poor performance. Did Kate meet or communicate with any proxy advisers or major shareholders ahead of today's AGM? What is her understanding of the issues and people who caused this protest vote and what is her response to this? Does she think it is fair in the circumstances and if she had her time again, what would Bapcor have done differently?
Answer: was jammed in a Reece pre-AGM Teams meeting so will have to wait for the promised AGM archive.
Q3. Congratulations for running a best practice hybrid AGM. I just wanted to check that you will publish a copy of the AGM webcast on your website and repeat last year's head count voting disclosure, similar to with a scheme of arrangement vote. If you do all that, you're in the top 10 in the ASX for AGM best practice. Thanks and well done.
Answer: C'mon Bapcor chair Lachlan Edwards, gave you the handball over the top in the goal square for running a best practice hybrid AGM and you started quibbling on head count data. You already do it. Don't change anything! You're AGM best practice despite being an investment disaster. Watch video of exchange via Twitter. Sadly, they pulled the headcount data out of this year's poll results. Check out what they did last year showing that about 370 shareholders voted.
