1 question lodged at 2026 AGL hybrid AGM

October 3, 2026

Below is the text of the sad solitary written question submitted at the pathetically short 36 minute AGL 10.30am hybrid AGM in Melbourne and via the Computershare platform on October 1, 2026. Logged in at 11.36am after the two hour AFIC AGM wrapped up and it was all done and dusted. Where were the climate activists stringing this one out? See notice of meeting detailing 7 voting items. It was very close to a premature AGM with nominations closing on August 13, just 1 day after the full year results were released on August 12. Gave this a mention on Twitter. See 6 detailed and pointed questions asked at 2025 AGM. Market cap was $5.5b on AGM day. The proxies were not disclosed early in the formal addresses. There were no protest votes. Watch video of chair Miles George announcing he was only offering one job lot opportunity for questions.

Q1. We've got about 115,000 shareholders. How many of them voted by proxy and what sort of campaign did we run to get out the vote? Did you even manage 2%? Also, when disclosing the outcome of voting on all resolutions today, including this LTI grant to the CEO, please advise the ASX how many shareholders voted for and against each item, similar to with a scheme of arrangement? This will provide a better gauge of retail shareholder sentiment on all resolutions and insight into the chronically low retail shareholder participation rate. The likes of Qantas, ASX, Suncorp, Tabcorp and even our own share registry provider Computershare have all voluntarily provided this data at their most recent AGMs. You've got the data chair, so why not let the sun shine in after years of saying no to this transparency request?

Answer:
AGL's Dr No chair Miles George rejected voting transparency request, yet again. The question wrangler did a much better job clearly reading this out than his chair did answering it. Hopeless. Watch video of exchange via Twitter.
