Vic Councils with the most cash

This list looks at the strongest Victorian councils in terms of cash balances as of June 30, 2025, assuming that "other financial assets" in their balance sheets is cash held in terms deposits which matures in more than 90 days.

# 1. Wyndham: the 2024-25 annual report details on page 9 of the financials that it had $46.2m in cash and $430m in other financial assets as of June 30, 2025.

# 2. Casey: the 2024-25 annual report details on page 169 that it $40.6m in cash and $360.6m in other financial assets as of June 30, 2025.

# 3. Hume: the 2024-25 annual report details on page 132 that is had $307m in cash and $20m in other financial assets as of June 30, 2025, which is the most declared cash of any council in Victoria.

# 4. Whittlesea: the 2024-25 annual report details on page 213 financials that it had $49.5m in cash and $270m in other financial assets as of June 30, 2025.

# 5. Whitehorse: the 2024-25 annual report details on page 124 (p7 of financials) that it has $22m in cash and $198m in other financial assets as of June 30, 2025 for a total of $220m in cash.

# 6. City of Greater Geelong: the 2024-25 annual report details on page 7 of 64 in the financial that it has $98m in cash and $101.3m in other financial assets as of June 30, 2025.

# Maribyrnong: last budget showed $104m in term deposits and $17m in cash for $121m but had about $8m in debt.

Merri-bek: the 2024-25 annual report details on page 7 of 54 in the financials that it had $36m in cash and $60m in other financial assets as of June 30, 2025.

Manningham: the 2024-25 annual report details on page 254 that it has $18.1m in cash and $60.5m in other financial assets as of June 30, 2025.

Port Phillip: the 2024-25 annual report details on page 256 that it had $17m in cash and $56m in other financial assets as of June 30, 2025.
