Q1. My first question is about News Corp's connection to Australia. How is the chair splitting his time between Australia and the US and why don't we have any directors living in Australia when, thanks to REA, a majority of our value comes from the country? During last year's Murdoch family court dispute, it emerged that Rupert Murdoch emailed Lachlan Murdoch's mother Anna claiming that if he and Lachlan weren't in control of News Corp, it would change the politics of Australia. Could Lachlan Murdoch please address the issue of whether he agrees with his father's comment that having him in control of News Corp is important for the political direction of Australia and how important does Lachlan feel Australia is to both himself and News Corp?
Answer: Not asked because the bludging Australian shareholder activist slept through the alarm and missed the 5am kick off.
Q2. Now that Lachlan Murdoch's 3 older adult siblings have been bought out of the Murdoch Family Trust, wouldn't it make sense to once again try and complete a merger of News Corp and Fox Corp to recreate the old News Corp. Could Lachlan comment on whether he and his father are still open to this idea, as they were 3 years ago?
Answer: Not asked because the bludging Australian shareholder activist slept through the alarm and missed the 5am kick off.
Q3. The chairman Lachlan Murdoch appeared to become very agitated with ISS for its report mentioning the fact a sizable proportion of his News Corp shares had been pledged to a financier as security to help fund the buyout of his 3 adult siblings. Has Lachlan and his two step sister Grace and Chloe completed the $US5 billion buyout of James, Prudence and Elizabeth. If not, what proportion has been paid and when is the balance due?
Answer: Not asked because the bludging Australian shareholder activist slept through the alarm and missed the 5am kick off. Was probably going to go with the first two anyway. The problem with submitting lots of questions when they do a two question limit is they pick the two they like.
