About Us

The Mayne Report is Stephen Mayne's shareholder activism web site, video blog and weekly subscription email newsletter which went live on 19 November, 2007.

Stephen is Australia's leading shareholder activist.

Stephen Mayne founded the subscription email newletter, Crikey.com which he sold four years ago. He is a business journalist by trade and a regular commentator on radio and television.

He is a colourful character. You either love him or hate him. Pleasingly, 19% of his local council electorate liked him enough to give him the big tick at the recent Victorian local government elections and Stephen is now a City of Manningham councillor.

If you want to see Stephen tear up and talk in depth about the influences in his life, check out the ABC Talking Heads interview which went to air on 11 November last year - here is the link.

The Mayne Report website is free to all. It has three main sections; word, podcast and video blog.

The site is a great reference for information about Australian companies, its directors and the rich. Lists include everyone ASIC has ever jailed, the biggest golden paracutes and the 10 oldest chairmen. The rich list with more than 1200 names of Australians worth more than $10 million is our most popular page with viewers.

The site is also a complete record of Stephen's AGM attendances, radio and television spots and his regular Crikey story. Stephen also bares all when it come to his shareholdings and trades - as painful as this may be.

The weekly Mayne Report subscripton email is Stephen's voice. To join up for a free trial, click here.

Off course, Stephen could not function without his trusty crew. Their details are here.

Stephen is passionate about shareholder activism and corporate governance. He believes a culture of greater shareholder pressure can only benefit corporate Australia and our community. And he is determined to be instrumental in building a culture of shareholder activism in Australia.
