We decided to track the career paths of former Government staffers and this list tracks where staffers who exited the Rudd Government finished up. Simon Banks:
served as Chief of Staff or Deputy Chief of Staff to three Federal Labor leaders, including Kevin Rudd, and has been Federal Labor's Director of Policy and a senior policy and media adviser, but moved on to become a director of Hawker Britton public affairs solutions.

Michael Bradley: former media adviser to Martin Ferguson now a director of communications with APPEA.

Martin Callinan:
a former senior policy adviser having worked for Kelvin Thomson in 2004 and Peter Garrett in 2007 on climate change, then as Defence Science Adviser for Warren Snowdon, now Policy Director at the Australian Academy of Science.

Andrew Charlton: Rudd's former senior economics adviser.

Kate Cornick: former chief broadband adviser to Communications Minister Stephen Conroy who is now executive director at the Melbourne-based Institute for a Broadband Enabled Society, a $50 million centre opened in 2009 by her former boss.

Daniel Cotterill: chief of staff to former Defence Minister Joel Fitzgibbon who then joined a leading Canberra lobbying firm.

Alex Cramb:
former Chief of Staff to Federal Minister for Home Affairs, Communication Director for the ALP's 2007 Federal election campaign and as Media Adviser to then Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd. Since moved to be a director of GRA.

Simon Dowding:
from press secretary to Immigration minister Chris Evans to government affairs at Worley Parsons.

David Epstein:
from Kevin Rudd's senior adviser to head of government relations at Qantas.

Jody Fassina: long time Labor staffer and friend of Communications Minister Stephen Conroy who was appointed to board of Tasmanian NBN company.

Kimberley Gardiner:
the former media adviser to Julia Gillard has shifted to the office of Queensland premier Anna Bligh.

Mia Handshin:
a former ministerial adviser to Federal Minister for Early Childhood Education, Childcare and Youth and Minister for Sport, moved on to become an associate director of GRA.

Lachlan Harris:
Rudd's chief press secretary but has yet to pop up anywhere.

Brian Humphreys:
former media adviser to Brendan O'Connor who has moved on to be the managing director of Humphrey's Communication Group.

Alister Jordan:
Rudd's former chief of staff landed a key strategic role at Wesfarmers Insurance serving as senior manager strategic projects. He is also an adjunct professor in public policy and governance at Griffith University.

Peter Khalil: worked for Kevin Rudd as his Foreign Policy/National Security adviser and as Senior International Adviser to the Minister for Defence, then joined Hawker Britton public affairs solutions.

Gail Morgan:
a former senior policy and political adviser over many years, she worked on the personal staffs of many of Kevin Rudd's Ministers, including Simon Crean and Kim Carr.

Pauline Sullivan:
worked in a former senior strategy role with the National Transport Commission, including secondments to the Office of the Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government and Infrastructure Australia. In 2010 she is a director of GRA.

Christian Taubenschlag:
former media adviser to Defence Minister Joel Fitzgibbon.

Tim Watts:
spent three years advising Communications Minister Stephen Conroy, including a period in opposition, before joining Telstra.

Ashley Wells: a former senior policy and political adviser having worked as senior adviser to the foreign minister Stephen Smith, and as foreign affairs adviser to Kevin Rudd.

George Wright: from one of Kevin Rudd's press secretaries to senior media and government role at NAB.
